Pt. 46 - Five Months of Torture
Sunday, 21 April 2013 17:23
"They were told not to harm the grass of the earth or any plant or tree, but only those people who did not have the seal of God on their foreheads. They were not given power to kill them, but only to torture them for five months. And the agony they suffered was like that of the sting of a scorpion when it strikes a man. During those days men will seek death, but will not find it; they will long to die, but death will elude them." (Revelation 9:4-6)In this opening sentence, notice how Christ uses Old Testament symbolism to point out two different groups of people. The first group symbolized by grass, plants and trees cannot by harmed, as though they are under God’s protection. However, the second group of people ARE allowed to be harmed and are referred to as those who “did not have the seal of God.”
Of course, this would imply that by this point in the end times, the people represented by the grass, plants and trees WILL have the seal of God, which is why they cannot be harmed by this demonic onslaught. And the reason why was given almost two thousand years ago by our Lord himself;
“I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.” (Luke 10:19)
Pt. 45 - Post-Flood Giants
Tuesday, 05 February 2013 15:43
“The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.” (Genesis 6:4)
When we left off last time, I had mentioned that the post-flood giants described in the Bible initially came through Ham’s line, and we’ll get to that in a moment. Since we presume that God chose Noah’s family to re-populate the earth because they were ‘tamiym’, or genetically pure and without Nephilim blood, then we have to wonder how the Nephilim came to exist again after the flood.
There are only two possible reasons for this re-emergence; 1) Additional Watcher angels fell a second time after the flood and once again took human wives, or; 2) One of the sons of Noah married a wife that carried at least some Nephilim DNA. Since there is no biblical or secular record of the “Sons of God” descending and fostering the Nephilim a second time after the flood, we can presume that the truth is behind door number two.
Pt. 44 - The Nephilim
Thursday, 06 December 2012 07:51
This post will focus on the origin and history of the Nephilim in order to demonstrate the strategy that Satan likely used in his attempt to gain dominion over the world. God gave this dominion to mankind, but as we have wandered from Him, it has defaulted more and more to Satan. And as we continue to rebel against God, we will eventually reach a point where Satan will be given full reign over the earth, just as he has always desired. Although this reign will not end well for him or his seed, he is nevertheless proud enough to believe that he can defeat the prophecies of God and gain his victory.
So what would Satan need to do in order to gain this full dominion? Well, he would have to completely break God’s chain of prophecy by eliminating the beneficiary of God promises. After all, if the seed or offspring of “the woman” (Gen 3:15) no longer existed on the earth, then there would be no reason for Jesus to return to save her, and no seed remaining to crush his head. The world would therefore remain in Satan’s hands as the “god of this age” (2Co 4:4), and he and his offspring would reign unfettered over the earth.
